Did you know in the UK, as of 1st May 2013, you can self-refer to a Direct Access Dental Hygienist for your Dental Hygiene treatment needs?
The UK allows Dental Hygienists to work independently, carrying out their full scope of practice, without the need for a prescription from the Dentist. In the US Direct Access has been available since the 1980’s and it is also very well established in New Zealand and the Netherlands amongst others.

Cloud- based Services
At Ohh! we have seamlessly merged into the new COVID world we have found ourselves in; we are now cloud based and everything is available online from virtual consultations or for you to peruse and book appointments at your leisure, we have an online shop and all the information at your fingertips to decide if Ohh! is the right fit for you.
All information we require and forms, such as medical history, are securely available online for you to submit ahead of your appointments, you can check in for your appointment from your car to alert us to your arrival, all treatment plans with costs and any information discussed at consultations will be emailed to you.
What if I do not do Social Media, Websites or Online access?
At Ohh! we realise that there are patients who may be put off by everything becoming online and print at home or email required. I am rapidly approaching my half century and it puts me off sometimes!
Age is not always the factor of course, perhaps visual impairments, just not a reader, or a non-IT choice of life, there may be numerous reasons why online options do not suit, perhaps you just prefer a cuppa and to chat about what is available and you can have us verbally fill in any forms required.
At Ohh! you can phone us, have a chat and we will book appointments for you, we can print everything you may need, treatment plans, prices, information on services, medical history forms, in our clinic & can do a question and answer face to face medical history rather than bombard you with forms and looking for your reading glasses or being faced with many lines of print, any information that is available on our websites we can chat about in person. If we happen to be mid treatment when you call you may get the voicemail but leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are keeping our teeth for life and living longer than ever before. The mature dentition is no longer like it was when my granny was a girl. Dentures are becoming a thing of the past with Implants taking over, which need as much care as natural teeth, and with more education on preventing loss of teeth, we now have other issues that are created from years of brushing and chewing and a well lived youth!
