Why Choose Opalescence

Opalescence the same brand as my tooth whitening, from the world leaders in whitening, Ultradent. Can be used as a standalone product and as your general toothpaste. For best results use after a course of Opalescence tooth whitening to help upkeep your new white smile.

Every toothpaste has a Relative Dentin Abrasivity (RDA) score. The higher the score the more abrasive the toothpaste is. A low Abrasivity score would be under 70 and should be safe for long term use. An RDA of between 70-150 means the toothpaste has a medium to high Abrasivity and should be monitored by your hygienist. Once the toothpastes RDA is over 150 the Abrasivity is likely dangerous in the long term and should only be used for a truly short term if at all. No toothpaste should exceed 200 and the top limit is placed at 250.

Many tooth whitening pastes are highly abrasive and therefore dangerously damaging. This whitening toothpaste scores a 90 in abrasiveness value – which is lower than even your average non whitening toothpastes and is therefore safe to use with Ohh! recommendation. (I may recommend a day to day less than 70 RDA if you have erosion or sensitivity & not advise this product).
